Why Does God Hide? Is He Saddam Hussein?

 "It is impossible to devise a scientific experiment to describe the creation process, or even to ascertain whether such a process can take place. The Creator does not create at the whim of a scientist." Henry M. Morris, Scientific Creationism, (General edition, second edition, El Cajon, CA: Master, 1985), p. 5.

The idea of "scientific creationism" is a contradiction in terms, because science is limited to studying what can be measured in some way, shape, or form. But as the statement above illustrates, there is no way to apply the scientific method to something that cannot be measured or even verified in anyway. 

The real question is not whether science can measure anything that may indicate creationism is valid, but why a God who is dying for us to know Him would choose to endow us with the ability to know certain "truths" about the nature of the material reality we inhabit, and even some of the immaterial nature of our own mind, but not with the ability to know Him through anything other than faith supported by nothing more than inference. 

Jordan Peterson claimed that we are endowed with the ability to know "truth" about reality, and argued that such an ability is evidence of a God who gave us the ability to know truth. Following Truth, Peterson argues, leads us to God. 

Of course, Peterson never addresses the fact that the very "truths" we can know about material reality all end where material reality ends, and any inference that such material came from something immaterial is simply a leap of faith. The question then is, why did so great a God create a universe in which he hides from our best methods of detection, even as he threatens to burn us for all eternity for daring to use our free will to follow our reasoning when it concludes that the absence of evidence is evidence of absence?

 Why does God want us to only have "faith" in who or what "He" is, but withhold all actual physical evidence at the same time? This is like reaching the end of a tour of a house and concluding that the nature of the house tells us something about the architect. But given the fact that house has a furnace in the basement, into which the architect claims he will throw all of his bad children for failing to "worship" him as he desires,  the clearest inference that can be made of such a house is that it was built by a Saddam Hussein.

The Clash of Religious Beliefs with Reality: Over Simplicity in a Hyper Complex World

God is the anthropomorphism of  our hope that life has a "happily ever after" ending, where there is no such thing as death and suffering, which we anthropomorphize in the form of the devil.
