If the Holy Bible proves anything at all, it proves that the Christian God has a blood-lust like no other God in history. From Abraham to Jesus to the end times to eternal hell, the Christian God loves suffering even more than, or at least as much as, said God loves Himself. And if everything from the genocides in the Old Testament and God killing everyone on the planet with a flood, to Jesus being tortured and murdered (rather than the devil, who is the guilty one) and the fiery end of the world followed by the never ending fires of hell, are not enough to convince you that Christianity is really an addiction to violence masquerading as "love," just consider the psychotic rantings of a Catholic priest trying to convince his faithful flock that murder and mutilation - which he calls "punishment" -  are proof of just how much his "God" is pure love.  In an article published on https://catholicexchange.com/gods-punishment-is-just-restorative-and-medicinal/,

To Christians they were, and are, even if to everyone else they are simply projections of Christian fear masquerading as love of their brand of a "God." Why didn't God show those Christians who were burning those witches the "truth" about what they were doing? Well, apparently for the same reason that same God never revealed to those Catholic parents what some of those Catholic priests were doing to their own children: because witches are no more real than the Catholic conception of God.   Christianity changes how we see both ourselves and other people. And not for the better.  Rather than seeing human beings as being born as innocent as Jesus, Christianity wants us to believe that almighty God choose instead to ensure that those whom he had made in his own image and likeness were all born infected with an inherent desire to act in the image and likeness of Satan.   Christianity has long demonized homosexuality as a sin by convincing its followers that the story of Sodom and Gomorrah is the Bible's version of America's 9/11, with the divine attack being not only intended as punishment of homosexuals and all those who tolerated them, but also a warning to all future generations of God's willingness to nuke whole cities over who is kissing whom. Christian morality, as such, is based on the idea that it is right and good for God to firebomb whole cities for a "sin" that such an infinitely enlightened being freely chooses to be offended by, despite having created such homosexuals in the first place. And he is as offended by the homosexuals he alone is responsible for creating just as much as He is offended by anyone who refuses to accept He likewise "intelligently designed" each of us with a sin-stained soul, for which He also commands us all to spend our lives begging for forgiveness. Friedrich Nietzsche pointed out that there are no facts, only interpretations. A fact is basically as useless as a brick until you use it for something. To use a fact for something is to give it meaning. To give a fact meaning is to engage in the process of interpretation of the fact in relation to other facts or ideas. If we say the sun revolves around the earth, for example, such a claim is meaningless until we understand why such a claim is given any meaning at all. The meaning such a claim was given was that it made sense not simply because that is what appeared to be the case, but because such an interpretation conformed to the claim that earth was the one celestial marble God preferred over all of the other marbles rolling around in the universe.   The Catholic Church made such a claim but never took any responsibility for the fact that it was, in fact, wrong. I can think of no greater form of violence to truth, and nothing more offenseive to nature and reason, than that Christians teach their children to love and worship a God who created them as born sinners so he could butcher his own son to death for their spiritual deformities, which can only be fully forgiven by accepting a lifelong enslavement to a religion, and that if they question the wisdom of such a "dvine plan" they'll be burned for all eternity in an afterlife that makes Auschwitz look like Romper Room and Jesus's crucifixtion look like a hang nail, but if they shut up and simply obey a priesthood that protects its own child-rapists, they'll live happily ever after in shang gra la with a God who lives in the cloulds like that giant in Jack and the Beanstalk. If this is not the epitome of insanity mixed with pure evil, nothing is.

All Christians are required to do at least three things to maintain their status as a "good" Christian. The first is to never ask a question about their own religion that their religion cannot provide an answer for that only ever proves their religion is infallibly true.  The second is that, if ever they encounter a question that their religion cannot provide an answer for, they should convince themselves that either there is no answer or if there is, it simply doesn't matter because it would only prove their religion is infallibly true anyway.  And third, they must believe that, no matter what questions are asked that their religion cannot answer, it is their obedience to their religion that guarantees they will be both "saved" from eternal tortures and given all of the answers after they die.

Why would anyone ever confess to a murder they did not commit? Stranger still, why would anyone confess to a murder they could not commit, because it occurred 2000 years before they were ever born? As crazy as it may sound, people confess to crimes they did not commit more often than we might think. And confessing responsibility for the murder of an innocent man over 2000 years ago is not only common, for many around the world today, it is considered to be a requirement to being seen and accepted as a morally responsible member of the human race. But how does admitting responsibility for the murder of an innocent man 2000 years ago make a person more “moral” than defending one’s innocence of such a crime? If anything, such a “confession” would only seem to make a person morally dishonest. So why are so many billions of people around the world not only so quick to make such a confession, why do they even teach their own children of their need to do the same thing to be “saved”? And in

The same way pornography reduces women to mere objects of pleasure for men, so Religion reduces people to mere objects of pleasure for a "God." One wants women to be brainless bimbos while the other wants people the world over to be brainless "true believers" in a "God." And religion combines a hatred of flesh with a lust for salvation by requiring us all to mentally masturbate to the "gornography" of the "passion" of Christ.

Ash Wednesday is when Catholics smear ash on their forehead in the shape of a cross to remind themselves that they “are dust and unto dust they shall return.” The point of this, other than selling the Catholic brand of guilt, is to remind people that they should be ashamed of being human, made of material stuff, sinful by nature because nature itself is less than a divine ideal. And the only way to overcome this shame is to aspire to "become like God," as the serpent in the Garden of Eden said to Adam & Eve, by shuffling loose their mortal coil and becoming that ideal, by becoming completely immaterial. Ash Wednesday, like Christianity on the whole, is simply a reminder that, to Hamlet's question of "to be or not to be," the Christian should always aspire "not to be," at least not in any physical sense, for that is the only way to be just like an wholly immaterial intelligence they call God.
